I am a believer in the Full Focus Planner. I have used other planners for years. Planners that I really like and understand how to use them.
The mess I would create for myself in planning my week in another planner is that I will load up the week with 20-25 things that have to be done this week. When I get to the end of the week I realize I have not completed many of the items on the list…that I made! For me, there was a feeling of…”I’ll get to it later” because I have so much time and so many items. What I needed, and what I have found with my Full Focus Planner, is discipline. Personal Discipline.
1. I have to have the discipline to really think thru my upcoming week and be specific.
2. I have to have the discipline to put Only 3 items daily. Getting three done a day is better for me than a floating list.
3. I have to have the discipline with myself to be active in monitoring and closing my day and prepping for tomorrow. When I finish my week and I have completed my Big 3 every day, usually before lunch, the sense of personal “attaboy” is gratifying. I feel more in control knowing my schedule for tomorrow is ready.
